Sidhanth Kapoor, the son of actor Shakti Kapoor, was detained following raid at Bengaluru rave party, according to news agency ANI.
According to Bengaluru Police, he is one of the six people who were allegedly found to be in possession of drugs.
He has appeared in films such as Shootout At Wadala (Haseena Parkar), Jazbaa, Jazbaa, and the crime-thriller web series Bhaukaal at 37 years old.
Siddhant Kapoor was found to have taken drugs as per the blood test results. He was therefore brought to Ulsoor Police Station," Dr Bheemashankar S Guled, Deputy Commissioner of Police, told reporters.
Police say that the rave party took place at a posh hotel in MG Road, when a team of police raided it and arrested the suspects. Sources in the police stated that Kapoor was not the only one who was taken into custody.
Police discovered drug abuse in Kannada's Kannada film industry in 2020. The police arrested Ragini Dwivedi, Sanjjanaa Gallerani, and Aditya Alva, a former minister.
Siddhant Kapoor’s sister Shraddha, was grilled in 2020 by the Narcotics Bureau in connection to the drug case that followed the death of actor Sushant S Rajput. Shraddha Kapoor denied that she had taken drugs, but claimed Rajput had. She was one of the guests at Rajput's party in Pawana to celebrate the film's success. According to reports, the actor also admitted to having had conversations with Jaya Saha, actor Rhea Chakraborty's ex-manager.
The anti-drug agency also interviewed Deepika Padukone and Sara Ali Khan, as well as Rakul Preet Sing. Rhea Chakraborty, the girlfriend of Sushant Rajput was also taken into custody in connection to the investigation into the drug angle surrounding the actor's death. After being granted bail by the Bombay high courts, she was released from Byculla prison.
